Exciting milestones as civil works get underway at Matilda!
We’re thrilled to announce that construction has officially commenced on Stage 1B and Stage 2 at Matilda, marking a significant step towards bringing our stunning Donnybrook community to life.
With our civil contractors, Winslow, now on site, the works are progressing smoothly, ensuring that future residents can soon begin their homebuilding journey.
What’s happening on site?
The early stages of civil works are well underway, starting with site stripping. This initial phase involves clearing the area of any trees and obstacles to prepare the land for future development. Over the coming weeks, bulk earthworks will follow, setting the foundation for essential infrastructure, roads and the layout of future home sites. Check out some of the progress so far below!
By April 2025, we expect all construction activities to be completed, including the installation of electrical and communication services, footpaths and the laying of asphalt. Once these works are finished, the site will undergo authority certification, with titles scheduled to be issued for Stage 1B and Stage 2 by the end of June 2025.

Tender success and cultural heritage preservation
At Matilda, we’re committed to maintaining a high standard of work throughout the development process. After a rigorous tender process, Winslow was selected as our civil contractor for this project, chosen for their expertise and dedication to delivering quality results.
In addition to civil works, we will also be undertaking the final section of cultural heritage salvage from 9 September 2024. This important process of recovering artefacts will take approximately two months and reflects our commitment to respecting the area’s cultural significance.
Entrance works and road updates
Work is also progressing around Matilda, with construction of the signalised intersection at Donnybrook Road and Westbourne Boulevard also underway! Symon Bros, the civil contractor for this project, is hard at work completing the fourth leg of this intersection, which will improve traffic flow and provide a convenient entrance to the Matilda community. We anticipate that the intersection will be fully operational by early 2025.
During this very busy time, the Matilda Sales Office will be operating under new hours to accommodate the changes on site.
